A national supplier of commercial & industrial textiles including acoustic solutions, automotive material, blinds & awnings, commercial furniture, domestic upholstery, floor coverings, healthcare fabrics, industrial fabrics and marine applications.
The company’s traditional Marketing function has been defined as the way they approach their customer base, with the primary intent of providing a product and service offering that is differentiated from their competitors, and of ensuring that their image, brands and products are projected uniformly across all company activity. They have also embraced the process of new product development and launch. To this end it has been quite tactical and not as analytical or visionary as our client believes that is required for growth and future planning. So this is where you come in from here...
About You
Like all best performers, you will be a driven and energetic professional. You are a tertiary-qualified Marketing practitioner with extensive strategic marketing leadership and experience in a regional or APAC role. Experience in B2B industries will be preferred.
You will have a proven track record, within a sizable National Company, in a strategic marketing leadership position focused on market identification, segment and product management growth.
You will have experience in driving products to market through complex value chains, communicating value propositions and generating innovation opportunities.
In addition, you will be an ambassador of data, establishing common marketing performance measures, processes and metrics throughout the product marketing value chain.
Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in the leadership team, and be involved in strategic goal setting and driving the profitable revenue growth for the business.
You will be pivotal in the assessment of growth opportunities for the business and influence in which markets the business invests.
You will also be responsible for the company's marketing and communications strategies, as well as overall branding and image. Prepare annual marketing plans, create a calendar of campaigns and events, set the marketing budget and analyse the market and competitors in various divisions.
Collaboration at senior level with Divisional Managers and other senior stakeholders will ensure profitable market penetration and brand alignment as well as possess a flair for presenting insights.
Provide Leadership Marketing function.
Assist and contribute to the achievement of the annually targeted sales and profit levels.
Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products, markets and services, defending and growing the business.
Development & review of new product concepts. Be instrumental in innovative and collaborative NPI process.
Development of the company’s Brand and enhancement of the Brand to our customers.
Participate in the development of overall Business strategic plans.
Requirements – The Person – Skills & Experience
A Charismatic Self Starter with a proven track record of breakthrough strategic and creative tactical thinking. Highly versed and experienced in the latest sales and marketing techniques as well as the tried and true practices.
You will be creative, innovative, and highly strategic and be able to demonstrate their ability to deliver profitable & sustainable growth across a broad range of products and brands.
Minimum degree qualified
Minimum 10 years’ experience in similar role
A solid understanding and experience in the architectural, industrial and wholesale supply markets
A natural leader that through collaboration, mentoring and coaching has built great sales and marketing teams. A style that inspires and empowers
Results focused attitude
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong market research skills with proven ability to identify, qualify and develop key opportunities and ensure robust strategies to support delivery of sales targets, leveraging key relationships, research and compelling value propositions
Be commercially astute and financially literate
Demonstrable experience with marketing campaigns and web technologies (e.g. online tools and social media)
Ability to switch between strategic and transactional tasks
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and partnerships with external customers & suppliers at a senior level
Familiarity with SEO/SEM and Google Analytics
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Be self-motivated and can multitask and meet deadlines within a lean, fast-paced environment.
Robust computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
